How Botox® works

Botox® is commonly used on forehead lines, crow’s feet, and frown lines. It’s also used to diminish fine lines around the mouth, pebble chin, gummy smile, neck bands, and can address excessive sweating.

Botox® is a purified protein that works to temporarily block pathways for muscle movement. This causes your facial muscles to relax and smooth away fine lines and wrinkles.
Before Treatment
We recommend scheduling your Botox® appointment at least two weeks before any special events. We suggest you discontinue Aspirin, Ibuprofen, green tea, fish oil, and vitamin E one week before your visit to minimize possible bruising.
When you arrive for your treatment, your Aesthetic Injector will review your treatment plan, capture before and after photos, and answer any questions you may have.
During Treatment
Your Aesthetic Injector will cleanse and mark the areas for treatment. During treatment, you will feel a mild pinch as the Botox® is injected. Your Botox® treatment will last approximately 30 minutes.
After Treatment
You may resume normal activity. Avoid other cosmetic procedures two weeks after your treatment. You will see some improvement within the first week but will not see final results for two weeks. Treatments typically last three to four months. Lastly, the Aesthetic Injector will provide you with an at-home skin care recommendation that best suits your skin type and needs.

Where can Botox® be used?
Botox® successfully treats wrinkles caused by muscle contraction, such as frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead creases, neckbands, and wrinkles around the mouth. Botox® can also be used to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
How long does Botox® last?
Visible results have been shown to last two to four months. As the botulinum toxin becomes less potent over time, your muscles will begin to react, and your wrinkles will gradually return. Depending on your desired results, you will need to schedule another Botox® treatment every three months to maintain results
